Set within the curtilage of a Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse, this new development is designed to support the main house with annex accommodation, a pool house, and a flexible agricultural building for machinery, hay, lambing, firewood, and outdoor cooking. It replaces a collection of low-quality concrete sheds and reorganises the site into a coherent courtyard arrangement that reflects the traditional farmyard typology of the region.
The proposal sits within a wider masterplan that establishes a clear separation between the formal gardens and the surrounding pasture through a ha-ha, maintaining uninterrupted views while preserving the historic landscape character. The layout is planned around the mature trees on-site, using them to anchor the courtyard and frame key views. Landscape improvements focus on restoring biodiversity, introducing native planting, and creating a more ecologically robust setting that complements both the listed farmhouse and the new structures.
